A new animated Seres, "Tales of the Empire". I had expected Barriss to be in Tales of the Jedi but now canon is moving forward. I just saw this trailer 15 minutes ago and I am still in some shock. It appears the first season will be about Morgan Elsbeth and Barriss Offee. Not sure how I feel yet. The show looks like it could be good, but now we are going on the Inquisitor trajectory for Barriss Offee and I must be ready for how this goes. With apologies, I have been away for a long time doing marriage/adulting things. Every time I want to write a journal with an update, I either get distracted by the real world or I just get a little depressed and stop.

My wife and I got another dog back in September, so we've been busy taking care of three dogs and working. I haven't had time to write, but lightning may have struck this week so I am toying with an idea. So, getting caught up, I want to say:

1) RIP Carl Weathers. You will be missed. You were awesome in Rocky and Predator, and loved your character from the Mandalorian.

2) Mandalorian Season 3 was Ok, had a lot of potential that I felt was wasted. Christopher Lloyd could have been a great long term villain from the Separatists, but I liked Bo Katan's evolution. Still, I get a little tired of Filoni challenging expectations but there ya go. I don't think I am a fan of his "Campfire" style of storytelling. 3) Watched the Ahsoka show. It had some good and bad elements. I don't think Filoni knows how to write Thrawn as a military genius without studying some of the great military minds of history. I liked Planet Peridea and its connections to the Witches, and scenes on Thrawn's ship felt pretty gothic like an old Dracula movie. I liked Skoll and Hati (RIP Ray Stevenson). Lots of potential here for lore but I am not a fan of Sabine being able to pick up polished Jedi skills in less than a week. Again, not completely a fan of Filoni's style but I will watch to see where this goes even though it may be a long wait.

4) Bad Batch season 3 is finally doing the kind of story stuff they should have been doing in season 1 and 2. I have mixed feelings about bringing back Ventress, but I'll hold off judgement until I see how and why she returns. Episodes are good, but I'll wait to see where everything goes in the final episode. 5) Currently enjoying Frank Herbert's Dune Part 2 by Villeneuve (spelling??) I remember when the 1984 movie by David Lynch made a deep impact on me as a young teen, and I felt those vibes while watching this new adaptation. Great stuff So, I had to take a long break from DA, maybe a break from Star Wars since there's a lot of ups and downs. People say Star Wars is dead, but as long as they are putting out content it will still be around. I am still curious about some projects like Skeleton Crew, etc. Tales of the Jedi Season 2 might have some interesting things, but I'm taking it slow. I think there are too many shinanigans with Lucasfilm, so having enthusiasm at the moment is kind of diffcult. In the meantime, hope everyone is doing ok here. I want to thank Bobann for all his efforts in making my comic for the past ten years. It has been an exciting ride to see this story turned into a comic. It's time to put it to rest, mostly because I can't afford to make this comic anymore since I am focused on bills and taking care of my wife and dogs. It was fun, but I think it's ok to stop now.

All the enthusiasm that drove me since 2013 to write fanfiction has kind of ended in a way. Too much adulting to do. Much of my energy was driven to help fans of Barriss Offee and to wait and see if her character returns to canon. But, seeing some of the directions and dynamics of the creators at Lucasfilm, it is perhaps for the best that Barriss Offee just stays as a fan favorite and doesn't come back. I would be excited if she did come back, but it's been 11 years now and I'm kind of tired of waiting while a bunch of red herrings pop up. For now, take care and be safe. I am going to do a little writing since an idea hit me this week

I watched the live stream of Star Wars celebration, and was reluctant to write my feelings. Just been very busy training a large puppy and doing adulting things.

I've never been much interested in 85% of the stuff they show from Celebrations every year. Not interested in the products they are selling, most of the interviews I don't care about, etc. I tend to be more interested in the cosplays, and any revelations of movies, streaming series, animated projects, the characters that will either return to future projects or be brought into canon, etc. So far, I am cautiously curious for:

Andor Season 2

Tales of the Jedi Season 2

Mandalorian Season 3 and the potential of Season 4

Visions Season 2

The Ahsoka series

I am mildly curious for Bad Batch Season 3, The Acolyte and Skeleton Crew, time will tell if they are good. Bad Batch has like 3-4 really good episodes (Everything involving Crosshair and the Admiral Rampart conspiracy against the clones, etc. It was cool to see Senator Chuchi back doing good things. Otherwise not a fan of the infamous filler stuff, but it gives me fanfiction ideas

Andor has been excellent, and I wished that all the Star Wars shows had such good writing.

The Ahsoka show may be good, but we shall see. I expect Filoni will challenge our expectations, for better or worse.

My usual alertness for any news on Barriss Offee has been the usual, nothing but red herrings and useless speculations, people constantly theorizing her future appearances and then everything ends up being a waste of time.

Tales of the Jedi has so much potential for her to reappear, but we will have to wait and see what Filoni intends (I fully expect season 2 to be about Plo Koon and Depa Bilaba)

Everyone's speculating Barriss to be in the Ahsoka show but I am trying hard to not fall into the usual traps. But these red herrings are going to pop up like internet wildfires until the Ahsoka show happens. I still believe any kind of return to canon for Barriss Offee will bring a huge response, break the internet a bit. But I am just going to not expect it anymore. I've heard the rumors of the Inquisitor being female in the Ahsoka show, and I have already fallen for that trick at least twice now, so I will wait, and maybe enjoy some of the Star Wars along the way. I know they announced three new movies involving Jedi Origins, Filoni's Mandoverse and the Return of Rey to revive the Jedi Order, but I will hold off any interest or excitement until they drop a real trailer in our laps before I get too enthusiastic for anything.

Not really up to debate where Star Wars is, or if people hate it or love it, etc. I just want to wait patiently to see how good future projects are, I am willing to give things a chance.
